Northeast India (officially North Eastern RegionNER) is the easternmost region of India representing both a geographic and political-administrative division of the country. It comprises eight states – Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura. The Siliguri Corridor in West Bengal, with a width of 21 to 40 kilometers (13 to 25 mi),[2] connects the North Eastern Region with East India. The region shares an international border of 5,182 kilometres (3,220 mi) (about 99 percent of its total geographical boundary) with the neighbouring countries – 1,395 kilometres (867 mi) with Tibet Autonomous Region, China in the north, 1,640 kilometres (1,020 mi) with Myanmar in the east, 1,596 kilometres (992 mi) with Bangladesh in the south-west, 97 kilometres (60 mi) with Nepal in the west and 455 kilometres (283 mi) with Bhutan in the north-west.[2] It comprises an area of 262,230 square kilometers (101,250 sq mi), almost 8 percent of that of India, and is one of the largest salients (panhandles) in the world.

Itinerary

Day 1Arrival at Bagdogra Airport (IXB) & Transfer to Gangtok 

Our representative will be there to receive the Guest at Bagdogra Airport (IXB) / NEW JALPAIGURI RAILWAY STATION (NJP)– He will be assisting for the transfer to Gangtok –Gangtok the capital of Sikkim Suits all from tranquility to adventure, land of monastery, mystic rituals & festivals at an height of 1670 meters / 5480 feet / 125 km – and is the most visited spot of India – It is one of the most beautiful town with varieties of Rhododendron, Orchids and butterflies – Nearly 135 kilometers 4½ – 5 hours drive – Check into hotel – Evening free to roam around M G Road (Mall) or local Shopping center – Over Night stay at Gangtok.

Day 2Tshangu lake + Baba Mandir + Nathula (Optional) 

Morning breakfast at hotel – Excursion to Tsomgo Lake & Baba Mandir nearly 40 kilometers – The Lake is oval shaped lake nearly 50 feet deep – Generally covered in snow for most of the year  – This lake is home to the Brahmini ducks & many migratory birds – Nearby is the sacred Baba Mandir known to be a very holy site for all  – Nathula Pass to Republic of China is nearly 20 kilometers and is optional tour – Back to Gangtok – Evening free to roam around M G Road (Mall) or local Shopping center – Over Night stay at Gangtok (In case of Landslide or due to any other reasons if Tshangu Lake is closed then an alternate sightseeing will be provided).

Optional Nathula (Additional Cost) (14140 Ft / 4310 Mts / 20 Km in 1Hrs one way from Tshangu Lake) Baba Mandir (13100Ft / 3994 Mts / 16Kms in 1Hrs one way from Tshangu Lake) is an Indo China border, controlled by the Indian Army & is situated approx 20 Kms ahead of Tshangu Lake at an height of 14140 Ft / 4310. The journey to Nathula & Baba Mandir is same up to 16 Kms. At this point, the right arm of the “V” which is 4 Kms takes one to Baba Mandir & left arm of the “V” which is 4 Kms takes one to Nathula.

One can opt for Nathula Excursion by paying a supplement cost which varies from month to month. Nathula permit gets confirmed 24 hrs prior to the journey date & it is subjected to permit availability as it is allotted as per lottery. Nathula is closed on Monday & Tuesday for tourist. Organizing the permit at the last moment is not possible & a clear window of 72 Hrs with proper documents is required to process the permit. There is no refund, in case the permit is confirmed by Sikkim tourism & due to whatsoever reason (Landslide, Heavy rainfall, VIP Movement, Health issue etc) one is not able to visit.

Day 3Gangtok Local Sightseeing 

Morning breakfast – After breakfast drive for the city tour of Gangtok – which includes Hanuman Tok, Ganesh Tok& Tashi View Point, Later visit Research Institute of Tibetology (Closed on Sunday & govt. Holidays), Do-Drul Chorten, Directorate of Handicrafts & Handloom (Closed on Sunday & Govt. Holidays), Flower Show and Jhakri Falls.Etc – Back to hotel – Evening free to roam around M G Road (Mall) or local Shopping center – Over Night stay atGangtok. 

Day 4Gangtok To Darjeeling Transfer 

After breakfast transfer to Darjeeling – This was the Summer capital of the East India Company –lies the land of breathtaking beauty, sloping tea gardens with spectacular views of the Mount Everest is the Queen of the hills – It is also home to the famous World Heritage train – The Darjeeling Himalayan Railway (DHR) Beautiful tea garden with the view of The Himalayan range along with the snow peaks of mount Kanchenjunga is one of the tourist hot spot of this region – Check into hotel – Evening free to roam around Mall or local Shopping center – Over Night stay at Darjeeling.

Day 5Darjeeling Local Sight - Seeing(Including Tiger Hill) 

Early morning  at around 3:45 AM drive to 8482 feet / 2590 meters through primitive forests of oak, magnolia to Tiger Hill to view sunrise over Kanchendzonga Peak (subject to clear weather) – On the way back visit Ghoom Monastery, Peace memorial & Batasia Loop – Back to hotel for breakfast – After breakfast rest for half an hour After breakfast next round of sightseeing – City tour includes Padmaja Naidu Zoological Park, Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (Closed on Thursday), Ropeway, Tensing Gumpo Rock, Tibetan Refugee Self Help Center (Closed on Sunday), Tea Estate, Natural History Museum (Closed on Sunday), Peace Pagoda – Back to hotel – Evening free to stroll around the area – Overnight stay at Darjeeling.

Day 6DEPARTURE AT IXB / NJP

Morning breakfast – transfer to Siliguri / New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) / Bagdogra Airport (IXB) -Forwarding Journey.
